Buying his first guitar at the age of 14, Adams began the typical teenage pursuit playing in a band in his mother’s basement. Of course his dreams became more of a reality when Adams quit school after a number of successful auditions got him the change to play (underage) in nightclubs with bands such as Shock and Sweeney Todd. Sweeney Todd actually released their album, If Wishes Were Horses, with a 15-year-old Adams as their singer! After 2 years touring with the band, Adams decided to make things more official, and began working in the Vancouver studio scene, working as background vocalist. It was around this time that Adams met with long-time songwriting partner Jim Vallance, with the duo recording a number of demos together!
Not only a talented performer, it may surprise you to find that Bryan Adams is actually an award-winning photographer! Earning a fellowship from the Royal Photography Society in London, the Singer can boast publishings in British Vogue, L’uomo Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, I-D and a host of others! Having photography a number of his musical peers, Adams demonstrates that his art can be exhibited more than through his tours, and in fact his legacy in the world of photography has even led to an invitation to photograph the queen (Queen Elizabeth II) during her Golden Jubilee!
Of course, photographic skills aside, let’s not forget that this is the man responsible for tracks such as “Run to You”, “Summer of ‘69” and “Somebody”! So don’t miss out and make sure you buy those Bryan Adams tickets now!
