Champions League format change

Most recently, UEFA has made headlines with the organisation finally changing the way teams are seeded for this phenomenal tournament! While previous tournaments, including this one, rely on the UEFA coefficient system, in which previous Champions League Europa League is taken into account. The new system, which we will see next season, will base more heavily on “sporting merit” and will take into account performance in a team’s own domestic league as well their performance in the previous UEFA tournaments.

This may come as a blow to teams like Arsenal and Manchester United whose top-seed status comes from their high UEFA coefficient, however what it does mean is we may get the chance to see new talented teams demonstrate how good they really are. Of course, what this does mean is in the future it will make for more exciting soccer, as more deserving teams will have the chance to prove their metal! So don’t miss out and grab your Champions League tickets now, here at Ticketbis!
