F1 races in Sepang have produced many notable events since 1999. The very first Grand Prix saw Michael Schumacher made a return to the sport, after he had broken his leg at the British Grand Prix. Schumacher came second in the race, with his Ferrari team-mate Eddie Irvine claiming victory and causing a controversy.
Another very dramatic race, in 2001, again involved Schumacher. The German's Ferrari spun off with team-mate Rubens Barrichello's car, but both recovered to finish in the first two places.
